SmartUp Accelerator is a collaboration project between ten organisations from seven Baltic Sea countries. During the next three years, we are mainly focused on building consumer cleantech ecosystems, activating its innovation actors and improving their skills to foster smart & clean startups and SMEs committed to creating new businesses. The project’s official launch date was on October 1st, 2017, but the real kick-off took place about a month later.
The gathering of almost all project partners for a two days of intensive work took place in Trollhättan on November 14-15th. Since we are quite a numerous group of organizations, it was also crucial to have some time spent together in order to get to know each other and share our expectations and hopes. Everyone in the project crew is passionate about discovering and supporting new markets for consumer cleantech, which we will further develop in the Baltic Sea Region during the SmartUp Accelerator.
Now a few months later, a lot of work has been done to create a solid foundation for the rest of the project. We have worked a lot with future plans, definitions and, in addition, we have started scanning the Baltic Sea region for small and medium-sized businesses, startups and intermediaries in the field of consumer cleantech, which are the main target groups for the project. Our next big event will be Helsinki Bootcamp on 27-28th of February, where the entire project team will meet in Helsinki for development and planning for the work for the year 2018. The focus theme of this year will be Smart Homes.
I am very excited and really looking forward to work on and progress with this project, together with all these fantastic people over the next three years.
