Riga: Clean, shared, autonomous – the future of mobility?

Smartup Accelerator and University of Latvia invites you to join a dicussion about mobility. During the event, insights into topics related to existing and future mobility issues will be introduced from several perspectives as there will be speakers both from the world of startups and public organizations.

The impact of EU directives on future mobility and the circular economy will be introduced by Economy Advisor of European Commission in Riga Mārtiņš ZemītisUniversity of Latvia researcher and head of NGO “Zaļā brīvība” (Green freedom) Jānis Brizga will talk about the impact of transportation on the environment. Founder of car-sharing company “CarguruVladimirs Reskājs will share his experiences and talk about good practice of sharing economy based business. Representative of Lithuanian investor’s organization “Contrarian VenturesRokas Pečiulaitis will tell you about the future of mobility from an investor perspective.

The seminar will also cover what is happening more specifically in Riga on a strategical level. Ministry of Economics of Latvia senior expert Aigars Lazdiņš will present initiatives of the Ministry of Economics for smart city ecosystem development. Finally, GIS specialist and expert Evelīna Budiloviča from the Urban development administration of Riga City Council will introduce actions related to mobility in Riga Municipality.

Of course, the Smartup Accelerator team in Riga will be present and available to talk about how we work to develop consumer cleantech solutions and smart mobility. We will also introduce the launch of our 2019 competition and briefly talk about our acceleration program. This year, the competition and our program is targeting startups that offer solutions related to smart mobility and that are ready to make connections on international markets. 

We welcome members of the public, startups and entrepreneurs, researchers, policy markers, companies and anyone else who is interested to learn more about consumer cleantech and mobility in Latvia and the Baltic Sea Region.
